Former investigative journalist Dennis Onsarigo was on Sunday appointed Press Secretary in Raila Odinga’s 2022 presidential campaign secretariat.

In a statement seen by The Standard, Raila said Onsarigo will coordinate all media relations needs and engagement of his 2022 campaign secretariat.

He will also be the link between the secretariat and coalition partners and work closely with mainstream media to disseminate news and information.

Until his appointment, Onsarigo worked as Director of Communication of Taita Taveta County Government where he was the link between the county and the National Government and Council of Governors.

Known for Case Files and Inside Story programmes on KTN, Onsarigo quit TV in July 2018 after landing his Taita Taveta County job.

Onsarigo is an experienced journalist who has worked with two leading media houses namely The Standard Group and Nation Media Group on the investigative desk.

“Onsarigo worked at the two leading media houses, Nation and Standard Group as Investigations editor, report and manager,” said the statement.

He is a holder of a BA- Communication and Political Science, a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism and currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in governance, peace and stability.
