A chilling Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) footage has emerged and showed the fatal moment that an armed assailant attacked a driver and shot him dead in Mirima.

Forty-year-old Samuel Mugota was shot in the broad light of Monday, May 16, after dropping off a woman and her child in the Mirima Springs area.

As shown in the CCTV footage, minutes before Mugota’s car was spotted, the gunman was seen walking on the footpath where Mugota would be killed.

At first, he was walking with a man said to be his accomplice. The accomplice disappeared as the gunman continued to talk on his phone.

A few minutes later, a white vehicle believed to be a Toyota Premio then drove past him and this is the point that Mugota’s car, a Honda CRV, also appeared after dropping off a woman and her child.

As the Premio made a turn, the killer who had covered his face with a cap was seen walking toward the Honda and the moment that he reached the vehicle, he unleashed a gun and shot the driver four times in cold blood.

He would then, seconds later, shoot the driver two more times before rushing back to the Premio which speeded away.

The Premio was being driven by another person.

In the CCTV footage, a woman who was heading toward the gunman’s direction was seen panicking and rushing back in the opposite direction.

Victim caught with various possessions

As TUKO.co.ke earlier reported about this incident, Kasarani OCPD Peter Mwanzo said several phones, sim cards, identity cards and laptops were recovered from the deceased’s vehicle.

The body of the deceased was moved to the City mortuary as investigations into the incident continue.
